Friendship

For the unemployed friend

Dearest friend,

I decided to write you this note because we haven’t had a lot of time to talk in person lately. I couldn’t help dedicating you a few words of support in this difficult period you’re going through. I know perfectly well how uncomfortable this unemployment situation is.
I can imagine that the drama is not restricted just to the financially set back but has other implications, such as a feeling of uselessness and helplessness. I’m sure the only way to face this difficulty (which will soon be part of the past) is to keep your head up high and to believe in God and all He’s capacity.
You will come out of it, there’s no doubt in my mind. Your true friends are paying close attention to every opportunity that may eventually be of interest to you. We are mentioning your name to all those who, in one way or the other, could offer you a job, even if temporary. I know how determined you are and how strong your character is.
Please don’t feel diminished or humiliated to be in this situation. After all, you’re not the only one, a large number of good, hardworking people are going exactly through the same difficulties as you are. Again, you have to keep the flame of your hope alive and do not hesitate to ask for help if you need it.
All your friends, me included, will always be there to help you in whatever you need, even if it’s just for a good chat! Better days will come, believe me! And it won’t take long!
